#001: Baki The Grappler

A portrait of resolve before impact.

Created for Baki The Grappler’s 35th anniversary, Collection 001 captures Baki in the instant before action—composed, marked by combat, and ready to face what comes next. Produced in Japan through Kyodo Printing’s Saibiban fine-art process, each of the twelve works is finished by hand and completed with Keisuke Itagaki’s signature and thumbprint.

Kyodo Printing’s Saibiban process gives Itagaki’s lines a physical presence beyond reproduction. Hand-applied pearl, deep gloss, silver, and gold shift with the light and create depth across the surface. Because each work is finished individually, no two numbered pieces are precisely alike.

Each of the twelve works was personally signed and thumbprinted by Keisuke Itagaki. Together, these direct physical traces authenticate the edition and complete a work already shaped by hand.
